ScriptSafe is an independent accreditor. We hold a clear, consistent line on what an accreditation means, how we treat the pharmacies we review, and the decisions that remain entirely yours.
An independent opinion, not a guarantee
Initial accreditation is a good-faith, point-in-time opinion that a pharmacy met the ScriptSafe standard based on the information available at review. Current accreditation status is then maintained through monitoring. It is not a warranty of legal compliance, future performance, or protection from loss; it is an evidence-based input for independent risk decisions.
You decide; we inform
Processors, acquirers, and networks make their own underwriting and risk decisions under their own policies and agreements. ScriptSafe provides accreditation status, scope, monitoring history, and findings; it does not control whether any account is approved, priced, maintained, suspended, or terminated.
Remediation where appropriate
When a finding can responsibly be remediated, ScriptSafe generally gives the pharmacy notice and a severity-based opportunity to respond or correct before a status change. ScriptSafe may act immediately, including notifying relying parties, when the finding is critical, non-remediable, legally disqualifying, threatens patient safety, involves suspected fraud, or when prior notice is not practicable.
Evidence on the record
Material accreditation decisions and status changes are documented in an evidence record, including source evidence, timestamps, reviewer actions, and the basis for the outcome. A pharmacy may request correction of an inaccurate finding and seek reconsideration of a declined, conditioned, or revoked accreditation under the process then in effect.
